We would like to invite children to make gingerbread houses to be on display at the library during the Christkindl Market on December 8 and 9. They may bring their decorated gingerbread house to the library during regular hours the week of Dec. 4.

Simple Holiday Desserts

Caleri’s Cafe and Bakery is coming to the Gridley Library to do a cookie decorating demonstration and to give ideas on how to make simple desserts elegant. Please call the library to register for this event and then join us Tuesday, November 14, at 7:00 p.m. for easy tips and delicious samples.

Stress Relief Program by Developing Melodies this Wednesday, October 25!

Come to the library on Wednesday, October 25, at 6:00 p.m.  for an evening of music and stress relief by Developing Melodies.  This program offers adults a chance to relax and refresh through music listening, group music making, and music-assisted relaxation.  The session will be led by a board certified music therapist who is trained in developing and implementing musical experiences that address relaxation, stress relief, and mental wellness.

 

Make a Difference: Read to Me

Make a Difference:  Read to Me, a project of the Christ Child Society of Central Illinois, will be celebrated October 28, 2017, at the Gridley Library from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.  All children 5 years of age through 9 years old are invited to attend.  After a story is read everyone will get to make bookmarks to use for their books at home.  The best part will be the cookies.

Harold Gregor, Landscape Artist Program

Gridley Public Library has the privilege of hosting Harold Gregor for a program on Thursday, September 28, at 7:00 p.m.  Come meet the artist who did the large painting of a cornfield in the library and hear his story.  Gregor spent 25 years as a Professor of Art at ISU retiring in 1995.  He also had a painting displayed on the first floor of the White House under President Obama’s presidency.  He is known as a “Distinguished Professor of Art” and the “Dean of the Heartland School of Landscape Painters.”
