The Pontiac Public Library in partnership with Pontiac Community Enrichment has received the distinct honor of being a host site for the newly unveiled “Journey to Freedom Illinois’ Underground Railroad” traveling exhibit. This educational initiative from the Abraham Lincoln National Heritage Area and Looking for Lincoln, highlights freedom seekers and those who took on great risks to assist them in searching for freedom and dignity. There is rich local history of this time period and the Underground Railroad in our Tri-County area. The exhibit and our companion programs will each take a close look at those stories. The exhibit will be available for viewing during all regular business hours at the library January 31st – March 5th, 2025.
