Summer Reading Goals

Summer readers are challenged to meet the following goals:

  • Children in Read-to-Me (2 years – Kindergarten) should listen to a minimum of 10 library books each week,
  • 1st graders read a minimum of 10 library books or, if chapter books, a minimum of 50 pages each week, and
  • 2nd – 5th graders read a minimum of 100 pages from library books each week.
  • Teens each book=1 entry (book at your reading level)

**Graphic Novels count for half (100 pages=50 pages)

**Teens: 300+ pages=2 slip entry

**Teens: If you purposely read below your level to earn more slips, we reserve the right to adjust entries accordingly!

Reading sheets need to­ be turned in weekly, and you will receive a prize of your choice!

We will post the names (with permission) of top readers at the end of the summer reading program!

The Adventure Begins at Your Library Summer Reading Kick Off Party!

Wednesday, June 5, 4-6 PM

Come to the library to get your reading logs and wristband-THEN-join us at the Gridley Central Park for face painting, snacks and ROCK WALL CLIMBING!

(Parents must sign a waiver at the library to participate in the wall climbing activity. This is in addition to the online waiver for those who filled out registration online.)
